Highlights from 2019

2019, you are the year I stopped putting things off to start prioritizing what mattered.

I kicked off the year by finally meeting my friend halfway between Dallas and Austin for a much-needed date. We had talked about it for years, but we finally made it happen.

When stress consistently woke me up at 6 a.m., I got out of bed and started working out. It turns out I kind of like it. The workout part, not waking up at 6 a.m.

I snuck in a solo vacation to San Francisco. I drove down the pacific coast highway. I hiked the Marin Headlands. I watched the kite surfers ride the winds. I wrote while the sun set over the beach.

I ate eggs for the first time which was fucking hilarious. It’s true breakfast tacos are good.

I celebrated the marriage of elementary school, high school and new friends. I often become overwhelmed with gratitude for our friends and family.

I crossed visiting Croatia off my 2015 bucket list and added Slovenia, my top travel destination of 2019. I went truffle hunting and white water rafting for the first time.

I drank wine with winemakers from Rioja and in the Croatian vineyards.

I listened to more live music from creative mornings singers to late-night bar sets because I enjoy it. And that’s a good enough reason to do anything.

I loved more (especially our dog, Sam), lived more and tried more.

And the best is yet to come.

2020, you are the year of doing and being seen.

Always. Delightfully Ridiculous.
